Mobile & Touch
A big pass to make the editor genuinely usable on phones and tablets — layout, full-screen note editing, and tap-friendly controls throughout.
- FixThe tool bar no longer disappears off the bottom of the screen on iPhone.
- FixYou can now finish a path or region on a touch screen with a Finish button (or by holding your finger on the map).
- ImprovedPress and hold on the map to open the right-click menu for features and point-crawl nodes.
- ImprovedThe Hex / Point / Combined switcher now sits neatly under the title instead of floating over the map.
- ImprovedButtons and controls are now larger and easier to tap on touch screens, and Undo and Redo now sit side by side.
- ImprovedA handle now peeks up from the bottom so you can find a tool’s options more easily.
- FixOn phones, opening a note now fills the screen instead of a tiny window stuck half off the edge — you can actually read, edit, and save it.
- ImprovedNote popups, lists, and the text-formatting toolbar are now easier to tap on touch screens.
- FixOn touch screens you can now rename, zoom to, and delete paths, regions, connections, and point-crawl items via a tap menu (the ⋮ button) on each row — actions that previously only appeared on mouse hover.
- FixThe party marker can be placed by tapping a hex on touch, and route details show on tap.
- ImprovedThe trace-image panel can be dragged with a finger, and popups no longer slide off-screen.
- FixOn phones, tapping a text field (map name, note title, search, settings, etc.) no longer zooms the whole page in.
- FixOn phones, the tool-options sheet now rises above the on-screen keyboard when you edit a name or label, so the field you are typing in stays visible.
- FixLong tool panels now scroll smoothly inside the sheet on portrait phones, and the bottom toolbar steps out of the way while a panel is open.
- FixOn phones and landscape, the toolbar, brush-size, zoom and layer controls are more compact, the zoom indicator sits correctly in the corner, and the welcome and gesture tips no longer overlap.
- ImprovedOn phones the editor drops the top bar in favour of a single menu next to the tools (with Account, File, View and more), the layout adapts to your phone’s notch in either landscape direction, and undo/redo only show when there’s something to undo.
- ImprovedTouch devices now default to the pan tool, two-finger panning no longer accidentally paints or opens menus, long-pressing no longer selects text, and tooltips are suppressed where there’s no mouse.
- FixThe note editor’s formatting buttons (bold, italic, …) now show their active state correctly on iPhone.
- FixPop-ups like Upgrade, Export, Settings and Shortcuts no longer get cut off on short landscape phone screens — the buttons are always reachable.
- FixThe first-time welcome card no longer covers the editing toolbar, and the gesture tips now appear only after you dismiss it.
- FixOn touch devices the Shortcuts panel now shows touch gestures instead of keyboard keys, and button tooltips and hints display correctly throughout the app.
Cleaner Sidebar & Tool Panels
The tool panels are cleaner, more consistent, and take up less space.
- ImprovedEvery tool’s panel now shares one consistent layout with a tidy header, and advanced options tuck into collapsible sections so the basics aren’t buried.
- ImprovedFavorites and recent terrains/features now scroll sideways instead of pushing everything down.
- ImprovedThe sidebar is narrower and only as tall as it needs to be, leaving more of the map visible.
- ImprovedThe close button on tool panels is now a clear ×, and brush size always lives in the panel header.
- ImprovedA short legend explains the connectable-feature marker.
- ImprovedOn touch screens, keyboard shortcut hints are hidden and rarely-used feature groups start collapsed.
- ImprovedThe sidebar is a touch narrower, and on phones the brush-size control is a compact stepper so it always fits — no more cut-off buttons.
Clearer Path & Point-Crawl Lists
- ImprovedPath and point-crawl lists now show each item’s length and where it runs, so you can tell similar entries apart at a glance.
- ImprovedPath lengths are shown in miles once you set a map scale (and in hexes until then), replacing the old internal point count.
- ImprovedPoint-crawl nodes now use the icon of the place they represent — a castle looks like a castle, a farm like a farm.
Connections
- FixWhen linking two features (like a mine shaft), the prompt banner no longer covers the layer switcher — you can change layers to place the second feature.
- ImprovedThe connection prompt now tells you whether the second feature goes on a different layer or the same one.
Saving Large Maps
- FixVery large maps with many layers and detailed scale levels now save correctly instead of failing with a hex-limit error.
