Your billing controls are on your Dashboard. Open it from your avatar in the top-right corner of the editor (on a phone: Menu → Account → Dashboard). The card at the top shows your plan, Free or Pro, and during a trial how many days are left.
Upgrade
On the free plan the card shows Upgrade to Pro, which opens the pricing page. Pick monthly or yearly there; prices are shown in your currency. Payment runs through Stripe. What Pro includes is in Free and Pro compared.
During the trial
The trial does not ask for a card up front. Near its end the editor shows a banner, add a card to keep Pro; the link opens the billing portal, where you add one. If you do not, your account returns to the free plan when the trial ends. Nothing is charged, and your maps stay.
Update your payment method
Manage Subscription opens your billing portal, a page run by Stripe, and brings you back to the Dashboard when you leave it. That is where you change the card.
If a renewal payment fails, the editor shows Your payment failed with a link to the same portal. You keep Pro during a grace period of about 7 days while you fix it. If the payment still fails, your account moves to the free plan.
Cancel
Click Cancel plan, then Cancel Now to confirm. The subscription ends at the close of the period you have paid for (during a trial, when the trial ends), and the confirmation shows the date. Until then you keep Pro, and nothing more is charged.
While a cancelled subscription is still running, Pro buttons open the billing portal instead of a new checkout. After it ends you can subscribe again from the pricing page; the free trial is only for first-time subscribers.
What happens to your maps when Pro ends
Nothing is deleted, and you can still open every map. Some Pro content keeps saving: painted terrain and fog on the Underdark layers, a size above 40 × 30, the scale levels you set up, and point-crawl locations past 25. What you cannot do on the free plan is add that kind of content to a map that does not have it, make a map larger than it already is, or create a new map while you have one or more.
Scale levels below the first detail level are kept but locked: zooming into one opens the upgrade window instead.
Two kinds of content stop saving:
- Anything else on an Underdark layer. If a map has even one path, region, note, point of interest or token on an Underdark layer, no change to that kind of thing is saved anywhere on the map, the surface included. Delete or move those items to the surface, or resubscribe.
- More than 3 tokens. A free map saves at most 3 tokens, the party marker included. Remove tokens until 3 are left, or your token changes on that map are not saved.
Until you do, the editor still lets you make those changes, but they are gone when you reload.
