Cleaner maps

Labels, icons, and notes are lighter and easier to arrange.

  • ImprovedRegion name labels are smaller by default, especially when zoomed out.
  • ImprovedAs you zoom in, region names step aside for place labels so the two don’t overlap, and return when you zoom out. Enlarge a place’s label and it shows alongside region names.
  • NewResize any place’s name label from its right-click menu — it starts at a size that suits the place, and you nudge it from there.
  • ImprovedFeature icons are a touch smaller by default, so they crowd the map less.
  • FixFeature icons now stay crisp when zoomed out.
  • NewNotes now sit as a small corner marker instead of a large badge. Hover or tap it to fan the hex’s notes out as chips — click to open one, or drag a chip to another hex to move just that note. Works in the shared view too.
  • ImprovedPoint-crawl and travel-time labels now use the map’s label styling — larger, with a soft halo — instead of tiny plain text.

General

  • FixPoint-crawl nodes and routes no longer show on hex-crawl maps (for example after an autosave or a tool switch).
  • FixRegion names are now hidden by fog, so players can’t read them over unexplored areas. As the DM you still see them faintly through your fog.
  • FixDynamic vision now applies to the shared view right after you create the share, without a reload.
  • FixWith dynamic vision on, the shared view stays fully hidden until the party marker reveals it — no brief flash of painted fog.
  • FixOn the free plan, saving a second map now explains the one-map limit and offers to upgrade, instead of a stuck “save failed” error.
  • ImprovedOpening the editor reopens your last map instead of a blank one.
  • FixFixed a “Restore unsaved map?” prompt appearing for a map you’d already saved.
  • ImprovedThe Hexer logo now goes to the homepage; your dashboard stays in the account menu.
  • ImprovedThe login page now shows a clear message when sign-in fails, instead of a bare error code.
