Points of Interest

v2.20.0 ยท August 27, 2026

Points of Interest

Cities, ruins, temples and shrines are now points of interest in their own right, rather than something a hex carries. The practical difference: you can drop a landmark on empty ground and decide the terrain around it later.

  • NewPlace a point of interest on an empty hex, with no terrain painted first.
  • ImprovedFeatures are now called points of interest throughout the editor.
  • ImprovedPlace names stay legible over fogged ground, and are no longer clipped by fog on the hex beside them.
  • ImprovedWhen a name is hidden behind a nearby one, the right-click menu now says so and names it.
  • ImprovedHovering a hex whose name is hidden shows it in full and gets the overlapping name out of the way.
  • FixRegion names no longer grow into a faint smear as you zoom in - they stay small and readable.
  • FixShared maps no longer send players the points of interest their party has not reached yet.

General

  • FixResizing a map now removes points of interest left outside the new bounds, instead of stranding them off-map.
  • FixRemoving a scale level now deletes the points of interest painted on it.
  • FixGenerating a world on a map that uses dynamic vision no longer reveals the whole map to players.
