Paths

Paths
- FixThe hex readout and “Reveal path” now count every hex a path crosses, not just the ones you clicked while drawing it.
- FixTravel range and route planning follow a road along its whole drawn line, so the road bonus applies between the points you clicked, not only on them.
- FixNotes that appear along a road are found anywhere the road runs, not only at the points you clicked.
- NewPath points can be placed anywhere, instead of snapping to hex centres.
- NewHolding Shift while placing or dragging a path point snaps it to hex corners and to other paths, with a marker showing where it will land.
- ImprovedPaths drawn before this update were adjusted so they keep the shape you drew, and a one-time notice on those maps explains the change. Where a road ended on a village or another feature, it now stops a little closer to the icon than it used to.
- ImprovedRivers that cross now join into one confluence, and a tributary can join a river anywhere along it, not only where a point was clicked.
- FixBoundaries and barriers no longer merge into roads they touch.
- FixPath end-trim is now correct on flat-top maps; it previously used pointy-top measurements.
- ImprovedSelecting a path and its edit handles are finger-sized on touch devices, and dragging a point lifts it above your finger with a crosshair so it is not hidden underneath.
- FixDouble-tapping to finish a path on touch, or double-clicking with a mouse, no longer leaves a stray extra point.
- FixA hex that a road only grazes along its edge no longer counts as on-road. This can change the road movement bonus and on-road note discovery on existing maps.
- FixClicking near a path that is not drawn at the scale level you are viewing no longer selects it, so Backspace can no longer delete points from a path you cannot see.
- FixRoads only speed up travel on the scale levels they are drawn at, and the bonus follows the road line instead of covering every hex of the world-map hex it crosses. This can change travel times and routes on existing maps.
- FixThe hex readout only names a path drawn on the layer and scale level you are viewing.
- NewSelect a path and a small control appears on it to decide which of two crossing paths draws on top. It only steps past paths this one actually crosses, and a greyed-out arrow says why.
- ImprovedDraw order now works between a base-scale path and one drawn at a smaller scale level, and matches in SVG exports.
- FixThe path list now includes base-scale paths while you are zoomed into a smaller scale level, so a path you can see and drag also has a row you can rename, delete and reorder.
Notes
- ImprovedThe “Discovered by Path” note discovery type has been removed. Notes that used it now reveal with the fog instead (“Discovered by Fog”), so they still stay hidden until your party has been there.
General
- FixTerrain icons no longer stay at their full-map size after an autosave while you are zoomed into a smaller scale level.
